Prevention of Blindness (POB) Trust was established in 2007 with a singular mission: to eliminate preventable blindness by providing free, quality eye care to those in need. Operating under the patronage of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), POB Trust is committed to serving underserved communities with compassion and excellence.
Through our flagship POB Eye Hospital in Gulistan-e-Johar and four campuses across Karachi, we deliver comprehensive eye care services completely free of cost.
What began as a small cataract initiative has grown into a state-of-the-art charitable tertiary eye care center, offering advanced treatments including corneal transplants, vitreoretinal services, glaucoma care, and squint surgeries, restoring sight and transforming lives every day.
POB’s legacy of charitable eye care in Karachi continues to grow, bringing hope and sight to communities across Sindh through its outreach programs.

At POB Trust, we stand by the belief that no man, woman, or child should suffer the heartbreak of blindness just because they can't afford treatment. Vision is a gift we often take for granted, but for many, it's a battle they face every day. We are here to change that.

Mobility, making daily activities like walking, cooking, or self-care difficult or impossible, and increased isolation and loneliness

Increased risk of depression, isolation, and loss of dignity due to sudden dependence on others

Inability to work or earn a livelihood, leaving families financially vulnerable. Greater exposure to poverty, as medical needs rise while income declines

No one should suffer blindness due to financial constraints. We provide world-class eye care completely free of cost.

Every patient is treated with respect, compassion, and humanity because vision is priceless.

From preventing blindness to performing life-changing surgeries, our work transforms lives and communities.

We bring back the joy of sight, helping people reconnect with their loved ones and pursue their dreams.

We believe everyone deserves the chance to see the world clearly, live fully, and experience life to its fullest.

Each day, many children, adults, and elderly individuals live with vision loss that is preventable or treatable but remains unaddressed due to financial hardship. Basic eye care, timely diagnosis, and simple treatments can change lives, yet access is often out of reach for those who need it most. Your donation helps bridge this gap by providing eye examinations, medical care, corrective lenses, and sight-restoring procedures. Restoring vision does more than improve health—it brings independence, confidence, and opportunity. Children can learn, adults can work, and families can look forward to a brighter future. Together, we can reduce avoidable blindness, uplift communities, and turn hope into lasting change through the gift of sight.
